Description

Threaded Outlet is a type of pipe fitting designed to connect to the main pipe through a threaded connection. This is an important type of fitting in piping systems, helping to create branch pipes without the need for welding, helping to reduce installation work and costs.

Applications

  • Oil and Gas Systems : Threaded Outlet is widely used in oil and gas pipeline systems to branch and connect equipment, valves or auxiliary pipes.
  • Chemical Industry : Used in chemical plants to connect tanks, process equipment and piping systems.
  • Water and water treatment systems : Used in water supply and water treatment systems to branch and connect pipes, valves and other equipment.
  • Food and beverage processing industry : Used in piping systems to transport raw materials and products.

Standards

ASME B16.11 is an American Society of Mechanical Engineers standard that specifies design, material, dimensional, tolerance, and testing requirements for threaded and forged pipe fittings. This standard covers fittings such as threaded, socket-weld, and forged pipe fittings.

  • Materials: Fittings shall be made of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys suitable for pressure and temperature requirements.
  • Dimensions and Tolerances : The dimensions and tolerances of fittings must comply with the dimensional tables specified in ASME B16.11. This ensures that the fittings can be assembled and operated safely and efficiently in the piping system.
  • Design and Construction: Threaded Outlet shall be designed to withstand the maximum working pressure specified in the standard. The design shall ensure that the fitting does not leak or fail under working pressure.
