3. ASME B16.9 fittings

90˚ Elbow Short

Leave us a message

Description

The 90˚ Elbow is a pipe fitting used to change the direction of flow of liquids or gases in a piping system. Its bend angle is 90 degrees, allowing for a sudden change in flow direction. The Short Radius (Short Radius Elbow) has a shorter bend radius compared to the Long Radius Elbow, meaning its bend radius is equal to the pipe diameter (1D).

Applications

Commonly used in piping systems in industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, power, and construction. Suitable for applications that require space-saving and in locations with limited space. Used in systems that need to change the flow direction quickly and efficiently.

Standard Specification

Standards:

Popular international standards for 90˚ Elbow Short include ASME B16.9, ASTM, ANSI, ISO, and DIN. These standards define dimensions, materials, tolerances, and other technical requirements to ensure the quality and safety of the fittings.

Dimensions:

The dimensions of the 90˚ Elbow Short are determined by the nominal diameter (Nominal Diameter – ND) of the pipe. Common sizes range from 1/2 inch (DN 15) to 48 inches (DN 1200). Specific dimension tables may include parameters such as:

  • Outside Diameter (Outside Diameter – OD)
  • Wall Thickness (Wall Thickness)
  • Bend Radius (Bend Radius)
  • Overall Length (Overall Length)
