Product Description:

Lap Joint (Lapped) Flanges are a type of flange widely used in industrial piping systems, especially in applications that require frequent disassembly and repositioning. Lap Joint Flanges are constructed with a removable flange that can rotate around the stub end. This makes it easy to adjust the position during installation. Usually made from stainless steel, carbon steel, steel alloys or other alloys. The surface finish is usually smooth or grooved to ensure a tight fit when connecting to other flanges. Available in a variety of sizes in accordance with international standards.

Application:

Lap Joint Flanges are commonly used in applications requiring:

  • Easy and flexible installation: Due to the ability to easily adjust the position of the flange.
  • Multiple Disassembly: Suitable for systems that require frequent disassembly such as in refineries, chemical plants, and industrial piping systems.
  • High pressure and high temperature system: Designed to withstand high pressure and temperature, suitable for harsh working environments.
  • Oil, gas and chemical industry: Commonly used in oil, gas, and chemical transmission systems.

Standard version:

Lap Joint (Lapped) Flanges are manufactured and tested according to many international standards, of which ANSI (American National Standards Institute) is one of the most popular standards.

ANSI B16.5 is the standard for pipe flanges and fittings from NPS 1/2 to NPS 24, with pressure ratings from Class 150 to Class 2500.

  • Dimensions and Geometry: Specifies standard dimensions, including outside diameter, thickness, hole diameter, and bolt hole spacing.
  • Materials: Specifies the types of materials used for Flanges, including carbon steel, stainless steel, steel alloys, and other special materials.
  • Pressure and Temperature: Determines the maximum working pressure and temperature the flanges can withstand.

ANSI B16.47 is the standard for larger flanges, from NPS 26 to NPS 60. This standard is divided into two categories:

  • Series A (MSS SP-44): Typically used for higher pressure systems.
  • Series B (API 605): Typically used in lower pressure applications but requiring large diameters.

ANSI B16.9 is the standard for butt weld pipe fittings, including stub ends used in Flanges Lap Joint systems.

  • Size and Geometry: Determine dimensions and tolerances for pipe fittings.
  • Materials: Specifies suitable materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
  • Application: Ensures compatibility and easy assembly with other ANSI standard flanges and pipes.
