Description

Socket Welding Tee is a type of pipe fitting used to join three pieces of pipe or change the direction of flow in a piping system. It is shaped like the letter “T”, with one inlet and two outlets at a 90-degree angle to the inlet. The prominent feature of this type of fitting is the socket welding connection method, in which the pipe end will be inserted into a cylindrical welding hole in the fitting and then welded closed.

Applications

Socket Welding Tee is widely used in many industries, including:

  • Oil and gas industry: Used to connect oil and gas pipes, helping to adjust the flow direction.
  • Chemical Industry: Used in chemical piping systems, helping to distribute or change the flow direction of chemicals.
  • Food and beverage industry: Used in food and beverage piping systems, ensuring safety and hygiene.
  • Construction and mechanical industry: Used in plumbing systems, HVAC systems, etc.

Standards

Socket Welding Tee is manufactured according to ASME B16.11 standards ensuring that these fittings meet the requirements of dimensions, tolerances and quality, thereby ensuring safety and efficiency during use.

  • Size: Socket Welding Tee is specified in nominal sizes from 1/8 inch to 4 inch.
  • Materials: Materials used for Socket Welding Tee according to ASME B16.11 include carbon steel, stainless steel and other alloys.
  • Design: The design of Socket Welding Tee according to this standard must ensure good pressure resistance and weldability.
  • Shape: The shape of the TEE must ensure a precise and tight connection with the pipe sections.
