Description

Threaded Swage Nipple is a type of pipe fitting used to transition between two pipes of different diameters. It looks like a short piece of pipe with a larger end and a smaller end, usually threaded at both ends or just one end.

Applications

Swage Nipples are commonly used in liquid and gas piping systems, including:

  • Oil and gas industry : Used to connect oil and natural gas pipelines.
  • Chemical industry : Used in chemical and liquid handling systems.
  • Energy industry : Used in power plants and energy systems.
  • Food and beverage industry : Used in food and beverage handling and transportation systems.

Standards

ASME B16.11 is the standard for threaded fittings for high pressure applications, including Swage Nipples. This standard specifies the technical and dimensional requirements for threaded fittings made of threaded steel.

  • Material: Carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel
  • Dimensions: The outside diameter (OD) and inside diameter (ID) must comply with the specified dimensions. The overall length of the swage nipple is also specified to ensure compatibility with different pipe systems.
  • Working Pressure: ASME B16.11 specifies maximum working pressures for threaded fittings. This pressure varies depending on the size and material of the fitting, but must ensure safety and efficiency in high pressure applications.
