Description

Threaded flanges, also known as threaded flanges, are used to connect pipes to equipment or systems without welding. These types of flanges have internal threads that match the external threads of the pipe. Threaded flanges are made from a variety of materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and other alloys, depending on the specific application requirements.

Applications

Threaded flanges are commonly used in low pressure piping systems and in environments where welding is not feasible or unsafe. Common applications include:

  • Water supply system
  • Oil and gas processing system
  • Chemical treatment system
  • Pneumatic system
  • Heating and air conditioning systems

Standards

According to BS 4504 standard, the technical requirements of threaded flanges (Code 113) include:

  • Dimensions and tolerances : Specified to ensure conformance to standard pipe sizes.
  • Materials : Carbon steel, stainless steel, or other special materials listed in the standard to ensure durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Operating Pressure and Temperature : Designed to operate safely within the specified pressure and temperature range.
  • Threads : Thread standards must conform to other international standards to ensure compatibility.
  • Inspection and testing : Inspection methods such as pressure testing, non-destructive testing, and mechanical testing are specified to ensure product quality.
